Enjoy A Safe And Allergy-Free Halloween For kids

Trick or treating is especially fun and exciting for children during Halloween. They fill their baskets with treats, chocolates, and candy. However, it can be a scary time, too, for children with health conditions, such as allergy and asthma. Make sure you advice your kids to take care and stay away from anything that might trigger their condition.

Be wary of masks

Kids with asthma should try to keep away from constricting masks. Let them pick a costume that doesn't require a mask. If your kid urges you to buy one, make sure it's not too tight or constricting that it obstructs breathing.

Halloween makeup can trigger alllergic reactions

High quality, hypoallergenic makeup can make a world of difference to a child with sensitive skin. Make sure you test the makeup first on a patch of skin to check if it triggers a reaction.

Don't go trick or treating

You might want to skip trick or treating. If your child has food allergies, you might want to try alternatives, such as scavenger hunting. You might also try watching a scary movie instead or host a halloween party with safe treats.

Prepare for emergencies

Of course, trick or treating is a staple for Halloween, so if your child insists, make sure you're prepared for it. Carry a charged mobile phone, epinephrine, and a bag of healthy or safe treats to bring with you along the way. Children who have asthma should have their inhaler at all times and take their medications.

Go through the treats

Check the treats your child receives for Halloween. Throw out any candy that appers unsafe or has no label.
