Self Reflection - Valentine's Day
Sometimes you don’t know what will happen in the future and sometimes you take for granted the people that love you the most – and most of the time you try your best to make your life right from the present to the future. To make things right always and never to cause inconvenience for someone especially your family. You are confident that you made the right decision securing your life and your family because you thought they are financially stable. However, we never consider or see the other side of the world that we are living in and that we are not alone, no matter how secured you are and build a fortress around you and your family this thing that is so called secured and stable could crash upon you, unprepared. You feel like the world is falling apart, you could not stand to look forward to another day. It is a dead end!
You stay in the darkest corner of life, terrified for the unknown life-changing event that will drag you down. You close the door and feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulder and you try to carry it alone in the darkness.
But then it’s not a dead end, Someone opens the door and turns on the light. It is the first time you have seen the brightest light. Your heart and the burden you carry is lifted when you see your older brother come in to embrace you and try to comfort you and say no worries, it is just a temporary of sadness and have faith in yourself and God.
The ironic part of a relationship between two brothers or the one between a brother and a sister is that the value of having a brother isn’t realized until when people grow up and get on with their own lives. The once highly annoying habits of siblings become the cutest childhood memories. No matter how much you fight, no matter what your differences are, there is nothing that can come close to the unspoken love and support of a brother. Deep down inside, he will always want to look out for you.
Brother, thanks for being the person who always says ‘let’s see what how we can fix this’ instead of ‘I told you so’.
You stood up tall to defend me and walked with your head high to set a perfect example for me. Thanks brother and advance "Happy Valentine's Day!".
