Baler - Surfers Paradise Part 1
The best time to go and watch the Surfing Competition in Baler, Aurora middle of February. This year 2013 The Aurora Surfing Competition will start on 7–10 February, where the best Surfers compete against one another and a long week-end celebration for Aurora Foundation Day which will fall on 14–19 February.
Baler,
I’m coming back! These words I heard always from my sister’s mouth every time
she comes back from surfing. She tells
us many stories about her adventures and how she started to learn how to
surf. Baler is a place for her, where
she could enjoy herself freely as it is. She loves the beach, the waves, the
hospitality of the Baler peoples and the local surfers, who are willing to help
and by giving some tips to visitor surfers from their own experiences with the
wave in the area.
Baler
is the fourth class municipality and the capital of Aurora province in
the Philippines. Located 230 kilometers northeast of Manila facing to the
Pacific Ocean and six hours drive away from Manila. The town is the political and
the economic center for trade and industry and the most progressive town in
Aurora. It is fast becoming for its known natural wonders, and where u can find
the most resorts, public institutions, surf-worthy waves, beautiful beaches, as
well as business establishments and its place in the Philippine History and
world cinema.
The classic film "Apocalypse Now",
the scene in which the U.S soldiers were surfing made the sport famous in the province and the
production and crew left their surfboards for the local to use.
Baler
is fast becoming a tourist attraction, top destination for hard-core surfers
and one of the largest Filipino surfing communities in the country.
So
definitely this summer, Baler is one of the places that I would love to hit
anytime of the day.
