Apple Can Delay Hunger
HUNGRY an hour before lunch time is a common experience to
anyone. As early as 11:00 a.m customers
at cafeterias, canteen and fast food restaurant start to pile up.
The downside of taking lunch ahead of time is the tendency
to overeat and to lead more calories.
To delay hunger, chew some high fiber fruits like apples.
The five grams of fiber in a medium apple will take the edge
off your hunger. According to a research
in Pennsylvania State University, it may actually help you eat less at your
meal.
When people snacked on an apple before lunch, they took in
187 calories less than those who didn’t.
However, those taking applesauce or drink fiber fortified apple juice
first doesn’t have any effect on their growling stomach.
Why? It’s because eating
an apple requires more chewing which can trigger a greater feeling of fullness.
